Best way to sell my Galaxy S3?

I want to sell my T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 because I really want an iPhone (I know, I know! :P). I'm about 17 months away from my contract end date, and I'd need to pay for the remaining balance on my phone (does anyone know how to check/calculate this on T-Mobile?) as well as the down payment for the new iPhone (I want a 5, which should be cheaper once the 5C and 5S roll out). Is this even possible to do without paying from my pocket? If so, where's the best place? Sites that buy electronics (Gazelle, BuyMyTronics) wouldn't give me enough to pay for both of those things. Would buyers on Craigslist or eBay provide me with enough dough?

Sorry I asked so many questions. Thanks a TON!!

P.S. I don't know if it matters, but my phone's screen is badly cracked. I plan to fix it, either via warranty/professional repair, or with a DIY kit. Besides that, the phone looks pretty new.

For an S3? No. You can get them dirt cheap for an upgrade, and some pre paids have them for under a $100. The phone is nearly 18 months old; far too old to command a high price tag.

go to those neighborhood cell phone repair shops. screen repairs are usually 20-40$ and honestly craigslist is your best bet but dont expect too much because s3 is kinda old compared to the s4 and other big phones out right now but sell it asap, you lose value by holding on to it daily. or go to t-mobile see if they have a trade in program.

I would suggest checking out BuyBackWorld.com to sell your older phones and tablets.
I have used both Gazelle but switched to BuyBackWorld because they pay higher prices and actually pay faster.

You can also Try Home | Cellular Returns They offer honest and fair prices for iPhones and Blackberry Cell Phones with no bait and switch methods .They have an A rating on BBB and will send you a free shipping box on request and will provide a free USPS label with a TRACKING # so you can locate your box. Best part you can choose to get paid via PayPal or check.

1) DON'T try to repair the screen yourself. (Did I stress "don't" enough?) There's about a 95% chance that if you do, you'll be back asking how to fix whatever ends up not working. Then you'll have to pay a shop to figure out what you did wrong, fix that (which may entail a new motherboard), THEN maybe replace the screen (if you damaged it). It's a lot cheaper to pay a professional to do it the first time.

2) Try http://swappa.com/?ref=mobilenations&data1=UUacUvbUpU3698227 See what they're selling for, and you'll know where you stand financially. As Golfdriver said, it may not be worth enough to bother selling it - you can keep it as a spare phone. (Just swap the SIM card [plus an adapter if the phones take different sizes - get the smaller SIM and use the adapter in the phone that takes the larger one. A full set of 3 adapters costs about $1.50 shipped].)
