I have the Note 8 and often update contacts on the phone in the course of daily activities. I have been using Google and Simpler to maintain contacts on it, and am still trying to figure out whether they are synching or not and which app to use as primary.
To add to the fun, I have a new iMac desktop and want to keep the contacts on it synched with my phone and Google. I have the Apple contacts app and Office 365 on it. If I had my choice., I'd like to use Outlook as my primary contact app on it.
I am a former I phone user and have contacts from that on the Cloud!

Can anyone suggest a good app or best way to keep these various contact apps in sync with one another?

The best way in an Android phone is the Contacts app, but it won't sync with an Apple contact app. (About the only thing Simpler gives you, aside from T9 dialing, which you don't need for numbers, is the "unknown called ID", which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. What it lacks is automatic cloud backup - change a contact in Contacts and [as long as it was entered as a Google contact] it's backed up, and it's automatically restored to any phone you put on that Google account.)

As for the iMac, you just go to Google Contacts for your contacts (and merge/delete duplicates, etc.)
