Hey all, I'm thinking of switching from my GS3 to the nexus 4 and was wondering if you guys think its a good move. Inputs. Pros and cons of the switch will be greatly appreciated.

Both are great phones. It really just comes down to the following things.

1. Updates. If you like them then it's an easy choice.
2. Removable battery
3. SD card support
4. IPS display vs. AMOLED.
5. See point #1

Overall if I had invested in an S3 I would probably wait as it seems that Samsung is trying very hard to stay on top of the updates. You have a great device in the S3 so unless you are a gadget junkie then I would hold off. The S4 is around the corner too :D

I have both & personally would I recommend either, yes.
Would I say the N4 is better, yes.
Would I say it's worth upgrading from the S3, probably not.

Yes the quad-core is awesome & pure Android is great, but the S3 is no slouch either.
IMO the only advantages are quad-core & pure Android, period.

If you're going to sell the S3 to pay for the N4, then alright, I guess. However, if you plan to keep both I'd say there's no point.

Not worth upgrading but they are both great phones. If you root the s3, you can get really updated rooms instead of it being pushed by your carrier

If you're not interested in rooting, then I'd also ask how much you do or do not like Samsung's TouchWiz changes to base Android? If you like them then that's a great reason to keep your S3. If you aren't too fond of TouchWiz, and especially if you're not into rooting, then that's an excellent reason to think of getting the nexus 4.

Personally, I love being free from carrier contracts. Also, I doubt you'll find a smoother running device than the N4, plus you'll always be running the latest OS, as well as knowing that any google app updates have been tested on that phone. That said, if they don't make it available for sale, it's all a moot point.

Thanks guys, guess ill just hold tight to my s3 and just wait until the s4 comes out.

I would def wait for the s4. In fact I am waiting for it as well. Rumors are rumors but it's sounding like it is rounding out to be a really good phone.
