Beware: Google Store & Synchrony bank issues

Of the banks I have dealt with, Synchrony is the fishiest and the worst in customer service. My previous jobs included calling insurance companies for verification of coverage and resolution to issues and they're not nearly as bad a CS of Synchrony.

I think they are emboldened to be more fishy because they do not really have physical banks. Google needs to get rid of them for their sake. Even Capital One that seems to have lots of complains is no where near how bad Synchrony is.

I'm not generally against outsourcing but Synchrony outsourced their CS to very bad call centers. I already called several times and I really get bad CS.

Never dealt with Wells Fargo but I have heard of that issue.

So far Google has not called me back but as soon as I get off work I will change my payment method and then close that damn account.

Wow no wonder why all this delay is hppening, they are being deceptive. Now what's going to happen with our orders. I still hope I get mine, but if not I'll have to cancel it. I'm still going to call google CS tomorrow.

Go to payments.google.com and change your payment method. Then pay for it upfront, then remove the Google Financing option (you put first a new payment method before deleting the link to Google Finance).

OK I called Google store customer service and they told me that my order is still pending because the order has not been endorsed by a carrier, see my method of payment reflecting and synchrony bank but they did not tell me anything about the credit finance account having any issues.

Pixel from store is an unlocked phone. Not sure why would it need to be endorsed by a carrier?

Did you opt for Project Fi?

Yes I did I opted for protect Fi. I have T-Mobile but didn't know choosing that option would required an enforcement from a carrier and I am now worried it may come locked to project fi only and not being able to use it on T-Mobile.

Oh, I am sorry to hear that. I don't really know since I didn't opt for Project-Fi. Probably you can call again and tell them to skip Project Fi.

I think Project Fi uses Sprint networks

Yes I read project fi thx, very interesting it I'm still on contract with T-Mobile otherwise i would try them out. I like the intelligent shifting b/t networks it would help in my job where I work like in a dungeon.

Fi uses three networks - T-Mobile, Sprint, and US Cellular, automatically switching to whichever network has the best signal where you're at. It's extremely affordable and refunds the exact amount for any data you don't use (so you're never overpaying for anything). It's been a fantastic service and I don't regret joining it at all.

Yes I see now. And sprint had good building penetration for areas with low reception. T-Mobile has always had this problem. Fi is a big saver I see. I would definitely try them out when I finish laying off my T-Mobile account.

Just make sure you don't use a lot of data. Fi is good for low data users. Fi for high data users is very expensive.

True, but that applies to most pre-paid services, not just Fi.

Depends what you look at. 10 GB on Fi is $120 whereas on Verizon it is $70 with carryover data and "Safety Mode" to ensure you don't get overages.

Yeah, but if I only use 2 GB on Fi, I get 80 dollars back. Totally depends on a person's needs.

I guess that is the reason, you are still in contract. Before the "no contract" thing with phone carriers, the price of your phone is actually a hidden part of your monthly payment.

I would like to try Project Fi, the problem is only Verizon has consistent reception inside buildings. I used to have prepaid ATT and T-Mobile before I went Verizon and a lot of times, I could not get reception when inside a building.

I think Project Fi is better used in the East Coast where these carriers have better reception. But not for those in rural California
