Bill due date change

I never said the cycle changed since someone already said the cycle date didn't change. What I was saying is the only way someone can have the same exact day each month for a due date like what you mentioned was before the change, their cycle start date is somewhere from the 7th to the 28th of the month. Otherwise, there will be 3 (4 for leap years) different due dates of the month for the year due to the number of days in the month. My XFinity/Comcast bills can be due the 1st, 2nd of the month for example. Pacific Gas & Electricity can be due from the 16th, 17th or the 18th depending on the month.
The only bill that was always due the same day from a utility type company was AT&T as that one is always due the 1st.
Then we agree, I think, lol. If Verizon would have avoided using the 29th or 30th for due dates, they would be there same every month. With those two dates, once a year, February, those of us with those due dates are going to have 1 to 2 days less to pay the same bill. Utility companies vary sometimes for meter reading, I don't have that issue unless there's a weather issue delaying meter reading that month, even then most time they estimate our average a lot of the times. Verizon don't have this issue, and all they had to do is avoid those two dates.

I'll survive, but companies should just avoid those two dates for this reason, not every month has the 29,30, and 31. So really there is three due dates that can screw a system up for paying bills.

With anything you pay for February, you will always get less than a full month which is the sucky part. LOL. We're on Smartmeters so no one reads anymore, those who opt-out has to pay a surcharge. As far as Verizon Wireless is concerned, didn't someone say that everyone is supposed to have the same due date now or do they still vary with the change? I guess there are some people who prefer paying the last minute of the month while some people prefer paying the beginning of the month. It's similar to credit card companies that allow you to change your due date. I guess the other reason is probably if they made all bills due on the same date, maybe it does go through manual processing so they can basically make the people who handle the accounting for bills do all the work on that one day alone. But regardless, did they actually give advanced notice of the change since I believe they are supposed to by law.

It does not matter when people prefer to pay, I got the notice and will live with it. My biggest point, there are three dates that shouldn't have been used since not all months have those dates, and those lucky customers will have months that their bill will be due earlier, as we know Verizon won't make it due later those months.

As far as just putting it on a credit card and the due date can remain the same thru your credit card due date... Well that is true except Verizon gives a $10 discount by using auto pay and a checking account or bank cards. If you use a actual credit card they take the credit away. So Verizon using those three dates make it harder for people to stick to a budget, they can remember their bill due date is the 28th every month, but by using the 29,30, or 31st as due dates, now there are months their due dates change. Not everyone has money laying around, they live on a budget. My point is, those three dates should not be used as due dates by Verizon or any company for that matter. It's common sense 101 imo. I think it's a way to generate late fees on those months, but that's my opinion.

My suggestion to people is to just set your mind to the 28th as your due date, even if Verizon was stupid and set it on one of those three dates. That's what I'm doing...

Edit... From what I'm reading, I don't think everyone has the same due date. Mine is the 30th. I think Jewel81 said their due date is the 29th That's a good question

For January, my due date was 1/13. For February, my due date is now 2/10.

Like I said before, the only people who have due dates the same day each and every month are those like yourself who has a statement cycle date of the 7th to the 28th of the month. I always have 3-4 different due dates a year since 1996 as the date is the same for months with 28 days, months with 29 days, months with 30 days and months with 31 days. So I have always been paying the way that you are complaining about as the due date has always been dependent on the amount of days for that month because my statement and billing cycle is on the 4th of each month.

As far as Verizon giving a autopay discount, that is only true with the newer plans. I can add autopay and/or paper free billing all I want on the grandfathered unlimited data plan which is $50 on the Loyalty 550 Minutes Share Plan with Pay per SMS and the discount will be $0. As long as you pay within 5 business days from the due date, you will not get charged late fees and even if you do, they will reverse it as they always had in my case since there have been a dozen times I paid past the due date and got charged the $5 and then got credited the $5 back over the last 10 years. Never had any problems, I even got charged spam received text messages which is $1.00 or less and they either credit $1.00 or they will credit me $20.00 or even $5.00.

It would be interesting to read what the official policy actually says about payment due dates since due dates can vary as they will never specify a exact # of days. Even credit cards will say 20-25 days from the closing of the statement cycle.

So I finally see my official new due date and it is the 29th. Just a wierd date to me lol

Lmao so my original due date was the 1st of the month. Then they changed it to the 29. Except this month was 28th. Now Verizon just told me on phone they changed my due date to the 26th of each month. It's like is it going to be a different date next month lol. Oh well...that is Verizon for you.

My bill was originally due the 2nd of each month for 15 years, then January changed it to the 30th. Of course February does not have a 30th, so I figured they would change it to the 28th. I was wrong, they changed it to the 27th. I assumed it would go back to the 30th next month, but from what you were told it looks like that isn't happening.

Who is running Verizon? The only logical reason for this due date changing is to rack up late charges.

Yelp. I agree. They want that late fee lol. Yeah I just want a due date that will stay. Not one that keeps changing. Who knows. I'm kind of curious to see if your's does the same.

Mine swapped to being due on the 8th. Been that way for two months now.

Doesn't really matter to me. I always pay all of my bills once a week at the end of the week that I receive notice. So, essentially I am paying them all well before their due dates. Not right or wrong, just my way.

Still the same for me. Due on the 8th. Been like that since January IIRC.

My due dates change every month. This makes me believe that Verizon is trying to get people on late charges.

To top it off, forget setting up auto pay for the due date, they want it 3 days earlier for auto pay.

Damn. It's silly. What's next huh? Lol. Back on March mine was the 29th. Last month and this month is the 28thn

Mine was the same for almost a year until they announced the date changing.

Since it changed mine hasn't moved again. Not sure what's up with your account.
