Bing still lingering?

Hey guys, I'm new to Android (coming from blackberry) and loving the Fascinate.

Anyways, I've rooted, loaded the enhanced Google apk, and renamed the 2 files associated with bing. The search widget works fine, as does the hardware button... most of the time.

What I noticed is that when I'm browsing with the stock browser and I tap the search button, I'm still getting redirected to that vzw address that returns results from bing. On the other hand, tapping the search button while using Dolphin HD returns results from Google. Has anyone else experienced this?

Do you have the bing apps that I need to rename? I deleted them but need them to make google search work. Thanks

Using the stock browser will always return search results using VZW and Bing because it's built in to the browser, and that's also why when using a third party browser you get Google results

Ok I assumed so, but was also afraid I may have missed a step somewhere. Thanks for the confirmation

and there is not fix for this yet? I like the default browser, but it is annoying to get out of browser and hit search to bring up google.

I don't know why anyone likes the stock browser, but yeah there's a fix. You can use the browser from the Mesmerize. It's in the XDA forums somewhere.
