ha OMG I cant wait I am going to wait every second of everyday waiting for more info on a phone that has been delayed more times than anything. Not to mention they are working on revision #3 according to the testers on twitter. As you can see the first part was sarcasm but the part about being revision #3 is true

Damn you for reminding me of pretty much what my life's been like for the last two months...
Long time lurker and posting for the first time. I am so close to buying the TBolt to get unlocked data. If the Bionic rumor of July 7th is true, doesn't that mean that is one day too late for unlimited data? And honestly I am posting so I can see the links on this forum. 
Now according to leaked information:
If you currently have unlimited data for $30 on VZW, then that specific plan will still be good for the near future, even if you upgrade after 7/7. You are already grandfathered in. Do not worry about settling before 7/7

Well I currently have a feature phone, but I could get unlimited data with my fathers old Blackberry. So that would work? If so, I'm extremely happy.
I would suggest doing that just so you have a smartphone data plan locked in before the change up on 7/7 and just keep it until a new phone comes out that you want and use your upgrade.
Yeah I got a charge and it will be going back and I will wait it out with my current smart phone since now we will be grandfathered after july 7th so I dont have to worry about losing unlimited data.
Since I don't currently have a smartphone, on July 6th I should go and get a Charge to lock in the unlimited data for $30 and then hope the Bionic comes out shortly thereafter so that I can return the Charge (hopefully within the 14-day return period) for the Bionic?
I would do it sooner than that if I were you just to be on the safe side. Some other people have mentioned they had issues trying to do something similar the last time there was a plan/pricing change, because they waited until the day before.
Or buy used off eBay or Craigslist. Sorry, but I find all the talk of buying a phone planning to return it very unethical. That is NOT what the policy is for. It was this behavior that probably caused vzw to shorten the window to 14 days.
I understand your concerns rkeller62 and frankly I'm surprised that I'm even considering this strategy. However, given all the buzz about the Bionic and its potential to be a blockbuster for Verizon, I'm not too sympathetic to Verizon since they are rolling out this tiered plan ahead of their "flagship" phone being released. If I buy a Charge in early July, in all likelihood the Bionic is not going to come out within the 14-day period I have to return it (seems like August at the earliest), which means that if I upgrade I'm going to have to pay full retail price for a Bionic if I decide to go that route and bite the economic bullet. The only salve will be that I'm not giving Verizon an extra $20+ a month because they decided to rip off the public before they even have a decent number of 4G LTE phones available. I've had a dummy phone forever and been with Verizon for almost 15 years now, but just because now I finally want to make the leap from the stone age into a cutting edge smartphone, I'm going to get dinged every month to do so? Not if I can help it.
You can just buy unlimited data even if you don't have a phone that uses it. Then just save your upgrade for whatever phone you want.
