Seems the only official mention of the Bionic has come from Verizon.Droid Bionic - Verizon Wireless
The deafening silence from official Motorola leads to wild ass speculation.
So, lets speculate wild assily.
I'm guessing the consumer oriented division of Moto, Motorola Mobility, is not running the show regarding the Bionic.
Instead, the Bionic may have been put under the control of a subdivision of the business enterprise and government oriented division of Moto, Motorola Solutions.
This subdivision is NGEM, Next Generation Enterprise Mobility.Next Generation Enterprise Mobility - Motorola Solutions USA
NGEM may not have, or does not want, the people to make controlled leaks to blogs and forums.
NGEM may not see any value to informing blog or forum readers.
NGEM may not be interested in informing or answering the questions of anyone who isn't the designated contact on a five or six figure support contract.
NGEM may round off their sales numbers by amounts greater than the buying power of all blog and forum readers combined.
Still, NGEM seems to be saying the right things:
"A Flexible, Open Architecture that fuels innovation from the developer community, rapidly bringing new robust applications to market allowing you to achieve greater productivity from your workforce and enhanced communications capabilities."
"Multi-Profile Use that enables a single device to provide the flexibility and freedom expected from a personal device, while continuing to secure and protect critical, line-of-business applications."
-from Bruce Willins, senior director of technology marketing with Motorola in this blog post: Motorola Solutions Communities: Fresh Ideas in Enterprise Mobility: Next Generation Enterprise Mobility: A Best-in-Class Device Platform
If the Bionic has been designated as corporate turf then all the concerns of techiegeek enthusiasts are considered irrelevant; but I'd bet alot of documents and software tools will wind up being posted where they're easy to access, just don't expect Moto to handhold you through it.
