Bionic on the charger problem

Does anyone have an issue while using their bionic while charging?

my screen seems to be not responsive and doesn't open what I click on instead opening something else.

Also while typing, it presses letters on the other side or the keyboard instead of letters near what I'm pressing.

I never had these issues, but I've heard people get these issues when using a charger other than the one it came with.

I'm using the moto OEM one it came with.

But...I have used different charger before

never. considered doing a factory reset, or call Moto tech support?

It happens to me too. It's a verizon branded charger which they specifically gave me for the bionic. Looks like I'll have to exchange it!

This aslo happens to me. For what its worth it also happened on my DroidX.

This does happen to me when I'm using a blackberry charger... I press power button to turn screen on, swipe right to unlock, and it totally goofs up my pattern lock and shuts the screen back down. If I swipe the pattern lock very slowly I can get it to work.

i have the same issue while also using the stock charger. it was worse when i was using a usb extender. i removed that but it is still doing it every once in a while.

Mine works just fine on moto and non moto chargers as well as on the inductive charging pad. Maybe I'm just lucky

We had like two other threads for this before...I have the issue as well. Nothing you can really do, I did a factory reset and it did nothing.

I have this typing issue while my Droid Bionic is in the Verizon OEM standard dock. I can minimize the issue by holding the phone in the charger with my left hand and type with my right.

I think I have a fix!

I was hoping the latest OTA that has been hitting our Bionics today would fix the touchscreen "flake out" experienced when the phone is connected to the standard dock and charging with the charger that came w/the standard dock.

Sadly it didn't... it almost seemed worse really. My wife was texting me after my phone updated and I was getting very tired of wrestling w/my phone rather than being able to respond.

On a whim I disconnected the charging cable - phone was able to respond accurately. Reconnect the charger that came with it, it reverted back to making it difficult to type. Finally I swapped the charger out - to the Motorola charger style with the removable USB cable and plugged that into my phone. Bingo! Was able to type accurately AND charge the darn phone.

So, if you're running into problems with the screen not tracking you accurately, try a different charger style. I suspect there is something to do with how the charger, dock, and phone are interacting.

Lastly, Booooo Moto.. bad Moto. I really liked how my old OG Droid dock could be connected to my computer's USB cable and served as a simple USB pass-through when I wanted it. Booooo again for giving us a junky charger that causes the combo do to this.

Hope this helps.

one of my chargers (non moto) causes my dock to send my Bionic into spasms. it will open apps by itself and even insert characters into a text field, in an Alarm application. it's quite bizarre to watch. it also will randomly play music in the middle of the night. it kept me awake from 4 to 5 AM about a week ago. I was ready to chuck the phone out the window. then I thought I'd try the moto charger with the dock, and it's been fine. as a test, i tried the non moto charger a couple more times and each time, the phone went berserk.

It would seem then that the Standard Dock is extremely finicky about what power it gets.
