Bionic prices/deals

"If you plan on switching to the Bionic from a feature phone and your contract is up soon, you can get a $100 gift card to go toward the price of your new Bionic." -- from Hands-On With The Motorola Droid Bionic For Verizon at TechCrunch

Anybody able to confirm that this works when ordering over the phone?

Also, do you know if this will work if you are already eligible for an upgrade?

I currently have an LG Env Touch feature phone and I was eligible for upgrade on Aug 25th.

Yes, I verified w/ vzw cust svc.

i'll be purchasing mine in-store at off-contract pricing ($580 or whatever)..

does anyone know if account discounts apply for those purchases? I have a 25% discount from the postal service on my account, and I know when I bought my tbolt I did have cheaper pricing as a result, but that was the first time that I remember seeing it.

It's weird. I get the percentage off my bill and most phones are cheaper for me($50 off), but a few phones like the iphone and storm 2 are still regular price. It'll be interesting to see what the bionic shows up as.

I am beside myself just thinking about paying 300.00 for a phone. I have been with Verizon for many a year as many of you are and this is how we are "rewarded for being customers" ... customer support that is lacking, monthly rates that are not on par with other carriers, NO GSII, and now a $300 phone. The only they got going for them is their network. Makes me wonder if VZW is going to bump up the HTC phones due out next month...
Off to Cosco for me if i do decide to buy the Bionic, I will NOT pay $300 for just a handset when there are other deals out there. I love my INC and will probably hang tight for HTC to release there dual core LTE phone....

I think that the NE2 deal does NOT apply to the Bionic.

so you know, u dont get the 100 off the price of the phone for going from feature phone to smartphone. u get a 100$ gift card that can only be used in verizon stores and verizon online, or u can put it towards your bill

edit: quoted the wrong person

I'm disappointed we don't have a clue about Amazon yet. But how did we get that $30 off at Costco?

Is the $100 gift card only valid for the primary line?

Just talked to my local Sam's Club and Best Buy. Sam's Club could nor confirm or deny whether they'll have it available tomorrow. Best Buy said they have 2 (TWO!) inbound and will sell them first-come, first-serve. He did state that there was a a possibility of an overnight delivery that wasn't in the system with more stock of just the phone, but that their inventory system is only showing 2 en route.

I'm still not sure how I'm handling this. Sam's Club was on my mind just on the off-chance they price it down a bit lower or include some extras for the same price (ala Costco) but if not, Best Buy is what I'm leaning towards in order to get the points and rack up the purchase towards a silver membership. Ugh. I'm torn.

I also have the USPS discount and I do not believe there is a discount on the phone itself. You get a discount on the main plans (voice & data), some features, and a discount on accessories.

A prior post in this thread indicated the $279 price at their Costco. That's the only report so far, thus the YMMV qualificaiton.

I think it is safe to guess that HTC's dual core LTE phone will probably be in the $300 range as well. That seems to be the trend thus far.

Can you buy the phone from Costco without a new 2 year contract...and still get the accessories?

Does Sam's Club have the same deal?

That 100 credit is for any line. I just dont know if you can buy this phoneat costco and still mail in for that offer.

Does YMMV mean "Your mileage may vary?"
If Costco is indeed offering a $30 credit off of the $299 and including the accessories indicated in the other thread, then hells bells, its a no-brainer!
I'm off to verify with Costco tonight!:D

edit: I need to take grade school math again! I meant $20...

yup, YMMV = your mileage may vary. The $279 so far has only been stated at Costco stores in Mizzou and for that matter, may have been a typo on the poster

I'll be at Costco bright and early. Just went there today and they confirmed that they have Bionic bundles in stock and that they expect to sell out by mid-morning but that they will "get more in soon"

So I purchased a Costco membership and ended up getting the executive with the Amex card and they give me a $20 cash card and $25 credit on first Amex bill. Plus, the executive membership gets 2% back. So basically with all the freebies, I paid for a regular membership and got an executive membership.
