I just purchased the note 8 from Best Buy. Pretty sweet deal $450.00 off. Anyway, I've had the note 7(miss that phone) and s7 Edge. My phone is to arrive on April 19.
Does anyone have suggestions on what I should do first when setting it up? I plan keeping this phone for the long term. Thanks for your help!

Don't set it up completely if it is on 7.1.1. Go ahead login and get it to the point you can check for an update. Let it install 8.0 and then set it like you want it. Other than that it is awesome.

Congrats - you're going to love it! I've had mine since they hit the AT&T Store - I didn't pre-order, I just walked in and bought it the first day my store had them!

Verizon has $300.00 off, Best Buy has another $150.00 off. Total $450.00. I think that is even better than black Friday had.

I bought the deep sea blue. Best Buy had it in stock, but it is a 45 minute drive one way. I chose free shipping. Figured if I waited this long for the note 8 I could wait 2 more days. Plus, I ordered a case from Amazon. That too will be here on the 19th. This way I'll have protection for it.

Good planning. My drive to work is 45 to 55 min lol. I can see why you'd want to avoid that when possible. Plus getting tech stuff in the mail is fun in itself.
