Bixby button not working

If you run TouchWiz, does it work? It works on mine (running Nova). Also, there was an update to some phones going out in the past couple of days (at least confirmed for T-Mobile phones). Did you already install that? It was meant to block re-mapping of the Bixby button, but maybe it broke it or disabled it for 3rd party launchers? Don't see why, but might be...

I have installed the update and that's about when it started. Playing around with it, I discovered a double click on the button works, but not a single click. Also, the behavior is the same on TouchWiz or Nova.

Do you have any Bixby re-mapping app installed? That's what the update was supposed to patch, so maybe that's what's interfering or why it now takes a double tap?

I haven't installed the update yet so I can't say for certain if now it takes two presses or just one (T-Mobile, no Bixby button re-mappers).

Nope. No remapper currently or formerly installed. Not really sure what's going on, but I don't mind it requiring a double click. Makes it less likely to activate by accident.

Are you just pressing it once? At least for me I need to do double press on the bixby button to bring it up.

Also using Nova after the T-Mobile software update and it's been kind of hit or miss for me. Sometimes I need a double tap, sometimes I don't.

the update requires a double tap.

I'm on ATT and mine does not require a double tap after the update. Are you sure yours requires a double tap? On mine they changed the behavior sothat only a short tap opens it. A long press is interpreted as an accidental press (like when you are picking up the phone and pressing the button accidentally). I like this approach better than requiring a double tap.

Interesting that mine opens with a single tap, but only if the press is very quick/short.

I'm getting some inconsistent results here. Double tapping and single tapping the Bixby button does exactly the same thing. Also, I sometimes experience what others are reporting: once in awhile, pressing the Bixby button does nothing. In these cases, I have to swipe left from my leftmost desktop to get to Bixby. After this, Bixby is once again able to launch via the button.

Also, I don't know if this is related, but on occasion Bixby takes two or three seconds to launch. Weird, considering that all my other apps are lightning fast on this device.

Come on Samsung, you can do better.

I have the same exact thing happening to me. I don't use it much though so no big deal

Bixby was working before the update, but after the update, pushing the Bixby button does nothing.

Verizon S8+

Same thing here, worked perfectly before the update from Sprint. Sometimes it doesn't work at all and sometimes I can single tap and sometimes I have to double tap.

The update makes Bixby cards appear with a QUICK TAP. Long pressing or 'normal' tap doesn't work anymore (not sure if that's meant for Voice in the future or just how it's going to be).

Thanks! I couldn't figure out why it stopped opening after my AT&T update. The quick tap worked.

I have the S8 on T-Mobile and both single or double tap works for me. On rare occasions, I would have to repeat the single or double tap because Bixby doesn't launch.

I'm sometimes seeing a big delay too. I'll quick tap the button and it's literally a ten count before the Bixby screen activates. Hmm, needs some work.
