nope. I didn't jump on the childish hate wagon and gave it a fair try even though so many said it was terrible.
No, it's not. it's actually a pretty cool feature so Bixby is right where Samsung put it, and I like it.
As the OP, I started this thread just to find out if remapping the Bixby button is a reliable alternative, or if it's a kludge.
I don't hate Bixby at all, and I am not childish because I prefer to use Google Assistant. I just prefer it, and if possible, I'd like to use that button to get to it.
Unfortunately for me, I find the remapping solutions just a bit kludgy, based on their approach of trying to catch the screen open event, resulting in flashing of some or all of the originally intended Bixby screen. I find it distracting every time I use it. This was my experience after spending way too much time trying every app, every which way. I am happy for those that love their remap apps, and for those that love Bixby. For me, I'll pass on both.
So, I am tapped out on this topic. Maybe Samsung will be even more generous than allowing us to turn it off, and provide a function to truly remap it.
