Bixby voice finally here!

To me any other phone is a downgrade cause of Samsung pay. No other phone pays you to use mobile payments like Samsung pay does. I've easily made over 2K$ using it. Works everywhere and it's more convenient and faster than those stupid chip readers. And now Bixby is even giving reward points for using it. Top that off with the best display, fast wireless charging, iris scanner and the best theme store out there. Tell me about another device that offers everything Samsung's phones do and I will happily give them a try.

Most of what you said is subjective I don't use samsung pay (couldn't even if i wanted to anyway) so no use for that and never used any digital assistant since i can do it faster than you can ask her lol. I'm in canada so samsung pay is not really knowned here anyway fast charging most phones has this these days (including my now g6) best display i digress it's oversaturated colors aren't natural at all yeah it looks nice but it's mostly a marketing trick from samsung, fast wireless charging ? really how's that big wether it's fast or not if you use it it means you're probably not gonna use the phone alot so it's not all that revolutionary + iris scanner was slower to use than the fingerprint sensor so i stopped using it after 3 days lolz. Theme store is on about every oem skin now too. Great you made money from using bixby but that's depressing lmao samsung has to pay YOU to use their phone. Everything you said is subjective and most phones already have these (theme store, wireless charging ip68 etc). I do give them props for samsung pay that app is boss ! but not working everywhere so to me it's a con since i can't even use it in canada (no debit card support from my bank on it). If everything is inferior because of 1 thing you're probably and simply a samsung hardcore fan that can't listen to reason since most of the points you made are irrevalent and subjective.

That's where your first post was flawed. Those things suit your needs but not everyone else's. Just like Bixby suits your needs but not everyone else's. You can't make a blanket statement like that when it comes to subjective features.
All other phones are flawed the S8+ is flawless and the Note 8 will be flawless. And this is just my opinion. You are to serious..

They should have developed the software without the button. Things would have gone much better had they done that. The button has annoyed a large number of people, and because of it has been disabled altogether.

Samsung did this bassakwards.

I disagree. A Bixby without a hardware button just looks like a renamed S-VOICE. No one would ever touch it. A hardware button forces notice, which is what they want.

Just like every other AI, Bixby will have lovers and haters, people who use it and people who avoid it. But either way, Samsung needs to do whatever they can to make sure as many people as possible talk about it.

And guess what? Positive or not, y'all can't stop talking about it.

Talking and using is 2 different things. They need us to use it and from what I've seen on here, related articles and other forums, user participation is very low.

Negative publicity in terms of advertising still gets the item bought. Samsung already sold the button, now they need us to make use of it and it doesn't appear that very many people are. They screwed the pooch when they didn't release it with the phone. People have already ignored it long enough or weren't impressed with it out of the gate. That mindset is VERY hard to change based on a first impressions.

It came across as an unfinished product and if you do a search on Google about Bixby you will find a ton of articles and posts discussing how useless it is. This is not the kind of publicity Samsung needed for software that relies on user input to continue development.

Then you factor in the amount of people using alexa or Google home and have started their smart home setups, Bixby doesn't appeal to them because it doesn't work with any of the preexisting smart home systems.

Walking down a street and telling your phone to turn up the brightness does not appeal to the average user. It appeals to a small class of techies. That's why you have probably never heard a stranger telling his/her phone what to do in public even though that technology has been around for years.

I talk about iPhones but I don't have any at the moment.. I'm sure Apple would rather I use and buy versus just talk about it ;).

I didn't say it wouldn't a challenge. It's still going to be a slow, hard sell, just like Samsung Pay. I'm sure they know that, thus the hardware button was born.

But at this point, there best weapon is visibility and relentless promotion.

I still know plenty of IPhone users who avoid Siri like the plague, so this stuff ain't easy.

I'm one of the ones who like new technology. Bixby is Samsung's chose for the phones they made, I purchased my S8+ knowing Bixby was a part of it and yes I was disappointed that the software wasn't ready at launch but I didn't wish the button was gone because of it and wanting to remap it and all that mess, I waited patiently and now I finally have it. I'm actually enjoying it's functions and look forward to having it in my Note 8. When I built my smart home the software that came with my system weren't fully installed but it's constantly being updated. Bixby is learning me and I look forward to its possibilities.

Right...but while talking about it may not temp you...the person standing next to you just might bite. It's a numbers game, and head count is the key.

And if they do.. cool? Your point? You are sounding as if I'm trying to push Bixby down or something which is honestly wrong. Just because I don't want to use it doesn't mean everyone shouldn't lol.

And you sound like you're looking for an argument. My point was simply to counter yours. Like anything else, the more people know about what you're offering, the better chance you have of integrating the market and overcoming the folks that feel the way you do.

Looking for an argument? Lol. Nope. Sorry to disappoint you ^_^

It's the small things that sell me on Bixby over GA. I can unlock my phone with my voice and a password without using the FPS or anything else.

I don't have to pull down the notification shade to do any action, just use my voice.

Editing photos becomes a breeze with Bixby.

Agreed. 😉

People will still compare. At the end of the day it is an AI Assistant so Google Assistant and Siri will always be the comaprsion for Bixby.
Just look at the ppl in here... They are saying why they prefer it to GA or vice versa...

Even the users aren't excepting the fact they are designed for 2 separate purposes
