Bixby voice finally here!

And?

Again, Bixby has done nothing useful for me. I dont stalk people on Facebook, dont need approval on my pictures through instagram and would never hire Uber.

You can say, "Call an Uber and take me to the airport" and then it will do that within seconds. Makes your life easier.

Or "send a message to Frank on FB messenger and tell him I'm running late"

Things my 17 year old daughter may like. Im not my 17 year old daughter.

You can try and sell me on it all you want but none of this garbage with social media and needing a ride somewhere interests me. I dont use any, literally zero of those services. So as I said "I use Google assistant everyday and have yet to find anything Bixby can do useful."

Its not in the least bit interesting to me as I stated. Not sure why you're selling me on stuff I dont use and have no need for.

Why would I need an uber? I have cars. Why would I pay someone to drive for me?

10 years from now you will use voice assistant. Your car will probably have it someday.

Not available in the UK! Don't have a clue when it will be either. If anyone could give me any indication of when it will be ( to the nearest year) I would be grateful.

Right now, only in Korea and US I think. Might be a while... it takes hard work to convert the language differences especially with accents. They would have to hire people to speak and collect the data.

I use it everyday, google assistant. On my way home I tell my car to open my garage door and turn on my lights. When Im ready for bed I tell my google home to turn off my lights. On my phone I tell google to remind me of an appointment. I ask it the weather, when the next game is, tell it to navigate to a place for me, ask it how to make a certain dinner, read me the news.

Can Bixby open my garage? Can it use Android Auto in my car so I dont need to pay the dealership an extra 2 grand for a navigation system? Can it turn on all my lights without buying a Samsung hub?

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I'm enjoying Bixby quite a bit. It's a bit more functional now than the beta was. And of particular note is the fact that now, you can get Samsung Rewards points for using Bixby and "leveling up." Which is a pretty big deal since those rewards points add up to actual dollars.

As for the Hello Bixby cards...yeah, those are quite useless. I've given them a fair chance and I'm not impressed.

You can help make Bixby better by offering feedback for each interaction. They will continue to provide updates each time to make it better.

I would rather just get in my car and go to whatever location I want while using Android Auto to navigate for me.

Never used Uber, Lyft or any other ride service and have no plans on ever doing so.

Well then clearly that isn't aimed at you anyway...

Exactly but he keeps trying to sell me on things I dont use which is very confusing lol.

I get it, some people use this stuff and its great that Bixby can do that for them. The conversation was about how useful it is for "you" and for me its not.

Knowing I dont use Facebook, Instagram or Uber, why keep telling me what Bixby does for those services?

Well those others did have years to get it right.
Ppl said the same thing about Google home when comparing it to the echo... Plain and simple ppl aren't forgiven, they want your product to do everything the other is already doing and more

Never said they should be forgiven, but when others have had years, these things take time.

So you're saying Samsung should have released Bixby sooner?

Nope, I am saying, like with Google home, it will take time and updates before it is on par with other AI out there that had years to "get it right"

This is where the opinion of building the software before the button comes into play.

Had they built the software first and got us used to it with voice activation or hard pressing the home button, it would have been less invasive. Then when people started using it and possibly liking it they could say "look here, we've added a button for Bixby to make things easier for you". Instead they said "hey we've added a button for something that is extremely underdeveloped and still hasnt launched in many regions. We also put it directly across from the power button so when you pick your phone up it activates. We also are promoting Bixby as a primary reason to get the S8 series even though Bixby is years from being as useful as we told you it would be."

Hard pressing the home button would have been so much more acceptable. I dont think Ive ever used that "feature". Id be cool if it was for Bixby.

Ah so your excuse of them having years to "get it right" doesn't make sense to me. They got years to get it right because they started long ago.. According to you if Samsung did that then would be on the same level. It all boils down to them waiting / slacking on doing it.

Lol ok I'm not going to argue with you because clearly you don't like samsung and feel that they should have had this years ago.
