Well Samsung is ensuring to tell people who aren't using it.. lol :x.//uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170720/47a023a2909761c46fc17f47372c5e7d.jpg
I agree. Only way to get the word out.You gotta let people know about it lol
Oh I see. I was thinking it was both of the two. I thought it to be like Google too and gather up articles and info that what ever your interests might be and they await you once you open bixby up. If indeed it'll do everything per your voice that you'd normally do with your hands then it very well could useful but we all know how voice commands can be buggy at times. I could see myself sending a voice command text while driving but other than that I'm not sure I'll use it. Like I said the first time I used it she read off an entire paragraph to me that I thought was cool until someone called me and cut her off. I then went back and tried the same command and she only gave me websites to explore. If I can somehow get her to read small articles to me then I'd very much use bixby. Like audio articles instead of audio books. I'm not sure it's set up to use that way though. Maybe I'll try it again bc if she will read me useful information then I will listen to her.The point of Bixby is that any function you can perform on your phone, you *should* be able to do it by voice command with Bixby. While it will have some google now like qualities, the main point is to help you use your phone completely with your voice--not as much to gather data or learn your interests. At least that was my understanding.
Looks like theyve turned this in to a short term promo. According to the bixby screen, this will only be possible until September 14th.
If anyone knows way to bypass and get it working in Canada, let me know.
I downloaded it and tried to use it. It's pretty, gotta cool female voice, but is non functioning garbage IMO. I re-disabled it. Google Now/Assistant blows it away.
What all are you doing? Im thinking of selling my S8 bc of bixby but if I can make something out of her maybe I'll not sell. Not a Bixby fan but I'm game for something new. Impressed that Bixby will respond when phone off. Trying to train the little bugger!

I am trying to figure it out and get the best use from it but so far I've not found that and by the way not every phone is a downgrade. I know of plenty other devices that are comparable to the S8 as it's just a highly priced phone. I like it so don't get me wrong but it's just not everyone's cup of tea.Sell cause of Bixby? Any other phone is a downgrade. Besides Bixby is better than Google Assistant and Siri. If you don't like Bixby then don't use it.
Both of those statements are subjective and different for each user.Sell cause of Bixby? Any other phone is a downgrade. Besides Bixby is better than Google Assistant and Siri. If you don't like Bixby then don't use it.
True indeed! Both of those statements are subjective and different for each user.
I use Google assistant everyday and have yet to find anything Bixby can do useful.

To me any other phone is a downgrade cause of Samsung pay. No other phone pays you to use mobile payments like Samsung pay does. I've easily made over 2K$ using it. Works everywhere and it's more convenient and faster than those stupid chip readers. And now Bixby is even giving reward points for using it. Top that off with the best display, fast wireless charging, iris scanner and the best theme store out there. Tell me about another device that offers everything Samsung's phones do and I will happily give them a try.No phone is a downgrade (unless you're talking about 2-3 years back then maybe) I've owned the s8+ and contrary to what everyone here seems to think it's far from perfect. I see the bigger picture : samsung failed with the note 7 and they did it immensely, that's when everyone thought they'd learned from that mistake and everyone thought they'd blow us away with the s8, unfortunately i barely see the upgrade from the s7 and couldn't justify the price they asked for that + being stuck with a bixby button and removing the ability to rebound that said button not once but twice (if not more) is anti consummer. I don't use google now nor their assistant and had no use for bixby fact is i have no use for a digital assistant, does that make me a bad person ? NO i traded my s8 since i was too paranoid with it and went with a g6 , i see no downgrades at all ! i feel it's even better. Before you make your processor arguments look on youtube tons and tons of speedtest were made even with the famous op5 there's barely 1-2 seconds of difference and shouting about ankiki or these test is bs they don't proove anything it dosen't show day to day usage. The g6 suits my usage and if the s8 suits yours better then good for you but don't go out and say every other phone is ****e cause it makes you look like a fanboy which btw i hope no one likes those.
Same here the fact that Bixby is only on Samsung phones is a big killer personally. It's not like I'm only buying and using Samsung phones. Sure I'll use them on my S8 and future Samsung phones but Google Assistant works great and integrated well into my day to day cloud services I use. Works on any Android phone, my iOS devices. I do find Bixby useful on asking questions local to the phone like settings etc. But Google Assistant is on another level and I like, trust the brains running Google AI than Samsung any day. Both of those statements are subjective and different for each user.

That's where your first post was flawed. Those things suit your needs but not everyone else's. Just like Bixby suits your needs but not everyone else's.
