I'm trying really hard to like it but with my S20 FE it seems to very frequently have accidental activations when I really never said "Hi Bixby".

I really wanted to try and make it work but frustrated.

How many of y'all use Bixby or disable it?

Nope, not me.

I use Bixby Routines and also to open settings on my phone. Other than that it hasn't much use.

Go to XDA and search for S20 bloat. There is a ton of info on what you can disable with the app. You can also Google the same thing and you will find info on the subject. Plus the app itself has an auto disable all bloat feature.

I have yet to use Bixby on my S10. I may try it at some point, but I just don't see the need to do so.

I don't use it much but have tried it for certain things. I don't understand why there is so much hate around Bixby though.

Maybe because Google Assistant came first and so we are all used to that? Admittedly I didn't like Bixby but once I heard all the stuff it could do, I was more interested.

I just have no use for voice assistance at all. I don't even like to talk on the phone, much less talk to a phone. I don't use Google Assistant either.

I do. But it's a different type of assistant. I use it for controlling the phone, and not the typical ask questions type of thing. It's much more powerful than the typical phone assistants..

Then, the Bixby routines make life much easier with the device..

I wonder if the FE model has the same issues as the 20+ that I have. First I can't figure out how to turn the darn phone off and every time I try I'm prompted to set up Bixby. Joking but serious. Everyone is saying the took the button away but really they just moved it to the other side of the phone and took the power button away. At least when I had my S10+ I could map the button to something useful. Everyone seemed to hate Sense when I had my HTC but I really liked it. With Samsung and Bixby I really haven't found any use for it. The routines could be useful but I've seen so many questions about how to do this or that go unanswered when I can do those things with Tasker. It tries to be Tasker-like but I don't think they went far enough with the phone controls. As far as an assistant goes I'm finding it really difficult to beat Google Assistant, except in the home speaker department. The home speaker is only good for like two things and even then it struggles, ok three things maybe but still struggling.

Maybe it's all because I'm new to the Samsung-verse, maybe because I'm stuck in my ways, maybe because I've been brainwashed by the haters but I just haven't found it useful.

And can someone tell me how to turn off my phone? Serious but joking.

To turn off the phone you have to swipe down on the screen and tap the power button in the top right corner. You will get three options. Select the power off button. You can also edit the side key at the bottom of the screen to power off in the future.
Bixby routines are great! Just Google YouTube on Bixby Routines and you will get a ton of helpful information.

This is how I feel, too.

I do use voice assistants in the house (a Google Home Mini in my office and an Echo Dot in the living room). Primarily for turning on and off lights.
