Bixby?

I've been tinkering with Bixby as well. Never used voice much but I think this has some potential. If I can get it working reliably with Google maps that would be worth it.

Easier to just say OK google than push a button first

You can set Bixby to voice activate without pressing button like ok Google does. Just ask Bixby to change the setting for you

Didn't bother setting it up and immediately set up the bxActions app to remap the Bixby button.

Bixby is really good for controlling your device. There are YouTube videos that demonstrate this. I wouldn't use it so I didn't bother setting it up. I use Google more since I mainly use it more to query things from the web.

I use google too. My point is I don't know and haven't read about a single person who uses it nor what thry use it for. I don't know what control my device means

I've been using it quite alot, it's actually very useful if you allow yourself the time and effort to get use to it. It's not a Google Assistant replacement, it's a companion. I have been setting up all these custom commands for Bixby and it's working great like verbal automation.

For instance when I say take a picture, I have it set up to do all of the things in this pic.

Or when using the front facing camera it does this

I also have it setup to do several tasks and change settings when I say I'm leaving home, or when I'm driving and when I return home etc... It's far more pleasant than I ever expected based on many youtuber's thoughts. I still use Google Assistant for web searches but use Bixby for controlling my phone.

In Bixby settings theres an explanation of what Bixby is and does. Plus there's video tutorials too. Check those out and enjoy Bixby like I do.

you can just say "Hey Bixby" instead of pushing the side button. It will "wake up" Bixby much like saying "OK Google" wakes up the Google assistant

"ok google" won't wake up from AoD screen, however "Hi Bixby read my notifications", "clear all notifications" works great and comes in handy when phone is not near me but there's notification icons lit.
