Black Background w/ gray letters possible on the Galaxy S5?

Hi All,

Just got my S5 and love it EXCEPT for battery life...

Is there a way to get the phone to use a black background and gray letters (not bright white to make easier to read and use less power still?)....I mean the contacts page and phone keyboard are just screaming at the battery for more power!...It may be good to do in other areas too but these two areas are the first to come to my mind.

Welcome to the forums.
Without rooting your device, I don't think there is a way to do what you would like. Have you looked for different apps to act as a dialer and contacts?
