Does Google (for the Nexus devices) or Verizon have a history of offering Black Friday deals?

I was genuinely excited for the Pixels until I got sticker shock from the price. I've been going back-and-forth on pre-ordering and am finally leaning towards doing it today on the last day of pre-order, despite the price. The $200 trade-in credit for my $50 Droid Razr Maxx at Verizon is what's tempting me.

That being said, I believe they're showing 11/17 as shipping for the XL, which is close enough to Black Friday where I wonder if there could be an even better deal if I can wait another week.

I think the only deals you'll find are through retailers like Best Buy and Verizon that offer things like VR headsets and gift cards along with your Pixel that will still be at full price.

I would go for that today. The black Friday things I have seen are obvious speculation at best. While there will be some deals, am doubting the Pixel will be included in that. Particularly if preorders are just getting shipped at that time.

They might have a discount for black Friday, but in the past, it wasn't significant.

Yeah, I just looked at Best Buy and VZW's 2015 ads. BB had a $250 giftcard w/ s6 and s6 edge and $200 trade-in credit on iphone 6s.

VZW had some slightly better deals, with $100-$200 off an assortment of phones and a $300 trade-in credit. Interestingly, that included the Droid Turbo2 and LG v10 which were both new at the time and *could* be analogous to the pixel.

That being said, all of their offers mentioned "switching" and requiring porting, so I'm guessing current VZW customers on upgrade couldn't get these offers.
