Black Screen with white bars plus extras....oh boy....

OK, I have searched this and many forums to try to resolve this one, but I am wondering now if perhaps the issue is me alone..

I have a Driod incredible (VZW) and it is rooted.

I have used this without much issue for a couple years.

Over a week ago I woke one morning to find I had the UIDS inconsistant error.

After some research I find I need to hard reset my phone.

I try to do that from settings > reset and that fails to work,

so, a bit more research - try going into hboot then recovery - get the black screen with white bars....

Check a bit more and find that as I am rooted (unrevoked) that I need to install ROM manager and go into clockwork mod.

Cool, I try that - and once I try to enter recovery - bang! get the black screen with white bars....

so I keep looking - SLCD issue - most of the links to the PB31IMG.zip file are no longer valid as this was apparently an issue some time ago.
A bit more searching and I find one here.

Try to load from Hboot as directed - it fails, no option to install....

I have run out of resources. I think I followed a relatively logical route trying to resolve this before bothering anyone.

So here I am, hoping that someone can help me sort this out.

I am an IT guy and fair with a PC, but some of the things ya'll do with the phones appears to be way above my pay grade.

Surprised it didn't have cwm to begin with. Try hard reset to recovery if you can. I'll have to look into this when I return home.

try to reflash clock work mod your using rom manager correct? and did you change your density? If you change your density for what ever reason it can have awkward effects

I cant to a hard reset as I get the black screen issue when I go to recovery - rest etc.. from Hboot

I reflashed CWM from Rom manager and I also tried flashing the older ones as well. still bet the black screen when it goes to recovery.

Never touched density that I recall. and couldnt find it anywhere in settings now to check that.

tis a bit of a puzzle to me.

Hmmm idk man you say the phone is old?? Dose it do this on all applications or just in recovery?
