Black screen

I rooted my phone and installed a custom rom. This is my first time doing so and I screwed it up. I read different articles and watched different videos. I'm using TWRP. I used the Slimlp rom. The wifi and camera didnt work. So I booted in recovery and loaded up my backup file. I know the system recovered back to 4.4.2 because I keep getting prompts that certain apps have crashed. Also, when I hold the power button, the "power off reset" prompt shows up. when I touch the screens the capacitive buttons light up. My screen is just black. I can't get into at all. Any help?
