black screen

hi guys

about a week ago my s3 screen stopped working, first it when very pale and bright and phone wasnt charging ( dont know if its related) and a day later screen went completely black,, the touch screen still works though as i can answer calls by swiping the phone. also when it rings the screen turns greenish colour and has lines, could this be a loose connection or is the actual screen knackered?

also i need to extract all my contacts and media files but because i have a password set up when i connect my phone to laptop it doesnt show anything. any way around this?

quick update

i managed to connect my phone to laptop via ubs ( managed to unlock screen via find my phone website) and transferred everthing onto my laptop. however i cant locate my contacts or my audio files. why is this? it shows me all my pics and vids though
