I saw both a black and white Note 4 side-by-side today @ Best Buy. The back of the black one had a softer, more premium feel to it. The white one felt harder, more of a plastic feel. Even taping my fingernails on both I could tell the white one felt harder, more of a hard plastic feel.

Anyone else notice this?

The same as how the note 3 feels. The white one is of a more harder feel then the black one. I orderd the white one because my note 3 is also white so i wanted to just stay with thw the same color. Maybe the note 5 I'll change colors. .lol

I went in and looked at both today also. I agree, the back on the black one was a softer touch, seems to be the same conversation when the Note 3 came out. I think the back on the black Note 4 is the same touch as the back of the Note 3.

I have the white Note 3 and went to look at the Note 4 today. Will buy the black one. I think it looks better overall and feels better. Could be the difference that you were talking about in the backs but, overall I am not thrilled with the white. Then again, I usually put a case on it so, I never get to enjoy it completely.

Just preorder from my local bb today went to order the black but when they click on it nothing happened had to order the white one any one else have that problem

I pre-ordered 2 black, then today, I went back and saw so many small nicks/scratches on the black. They are very noticeable. So, I requested to change to white. I'll have a clear case cover it all the time anyway.

Once you go black, you never go back. Right? I'll show myself out.

I liked the softer backside of the black but the white looks better. I felt the black looked cheap. I felt the reverse of the note 3. I usually like black phones but the white looks really nice.

The Note 3 also had the variance of softness between colors. It must have something to do with the coloring process of the material.

I got black. Had the white Note 3 and wanted black this time around. I would have bought plaid but they don't offer it.....

Black.

After using a white S4 and white iPad 3, I'll never pick white again.

The color never fades away when watching videos and such. The black bezels make the experience so much better.

I pre-ordered the white from BB but that's only because pre-orders for the black N4 on Verizon were sold out. I prefer the black and the Samsung folks at BB suggested I get there early on the 17th and they should have some extra black ones that aren't already spoken for through the pre-order process. Even if I'm stuck with the white, ultimately, I won't feel too bad. First world problems and all that.

Interesting what you all say about the feel...I looked at both but I wasn't paying attention to the feel. The thing that got to me about the Black version is that SAMSUNG pops out way too much. I'm switching after being an iPhone user since the first iPhone, so I've become accustomed to less branding on the hardware.

I went white for myself because I felt it hid the SAMSUNG on the front and back better.

Looking forward to the switch :)
