BlackBerry folder in MyTouch?

I plugged in my mom's MyTouch into my laptop and it says the device is a BlackBerry. It also has a BlackBerry folder that's empty. Why is that?

Sorry not very helpful but I have the same thing on my Android.. Does anyone know if it's safe to delete it?
