Hello all,
Made a drastic change in a very important part of my digital world and gave up a very very long term life from the Blackberry World to now Android. I have a lot to learn but me coming from what I consider a BlackBerry Expert the transition should be somewhat painless. Blackberry 10 OS changed things greatly for BB users as it introduced the ability to run Android apps.
I went from a BB z10 to now my new Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 running Kitkat 4.4
Even though the BB can run Android apps they are limited to 4.2 right now but with newer BB OS's being born ever few months the end result limit is unknown as of yet.
Putting OS differences aside, the Mega 2 I selected from AT&T has so far been a great choice. It is much faster and more fluent then my z10. My z10 being limited on Android apps that I could run has now turned to unlimited. Apps that I wanted to run are now working. Big happy! :-)
BB has a vast verity of really good apps and the addition of many Android apps gives you the best of both worlds but still you feel left out of some really good applications with more power to do more. Thus, me now making the change.
Wish there was a Mega 2 forum here. I have searched but can't locate one. Maybe someone can give me a point. Galaxy 4 seems to be somewhat close.
Loving my Mega 2 though. My wife and myself made a change together. She was on a iPhone 5c. That was a real jump for her but after I convinced her it was going to be much better. She is now agreeing with me. She has been a iPhone user for years. She cannot believe the performance difference. She had an issue with iCloud that I will speak of in later posts.
Well, just wanted to say Hi and give some background on my wife and myself In the cell phone relm. Hope to learn a lot and make lots of new good friends. Hope to get a big warm welcome.. Pretty much at home on Mobile Nation as was on the Blackberry forums on the CRACKBERRY side for years.

Akawarrior. I have done the same. I am making the jump from BlackBerry as well mainly due to the serious lack of quality social media management. In my job I have been put in charge of managing my companies social media presence as well as a variety of Web marketing. Because I travel a fair bit for work these things must often be done on the go. And my BlackBerry Z30 as good of a device as it is. Just doesn't cut it. So I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my newly purchase One Plus One :)

Yes, I guess a lot of Blackberry users that have been dedicated for years. Have now moved on. My z10 was a great phone don't get me wrong. I loved it but I think the Android platform has a lot more to offer. The money we invest in a phone now days, I feel I deserve more then what I was getting from Blackberry.
I am much happier with the Mega 2 then I was with the z10. I was a BB user for so long I feel like I have deserted. I keep telling myself it was just time for a change. My wife is now saying the same about her iPhone move. She is loving her Mega 2 as well. It's kinda like buying a new home. It just will take a while before you can call the new location HOME again.. lol
Thank you and everyone else here at AC for the great welcome. AC I am sure will be called home too soon by me and others. I have already picked up some good tips and found some great new friends.

You've said it perfectly .I know exactly what you mean. And I know the feeling of thinking I am a deserter for leaving blackberry. But you are right. There is just so much more to offer on android. I am still a big supporter of Blackberry. And I wish them much success. That being said your right. We deserve more from our phones then what they can offer. Hopefully one day they can offer that to us. When that day comes I will take a look at Blackberry again. But until then. I need my device to do what I want it to :) cheers and welcome to Android
