Hey new to this forum and was wondering your opinions.

I want to make the change from my BB Tour to an Android phone; however, I don't know which phone to get. I like the Droid X but don't like the look with the physical buttons. I heard they seem cheap and I saw where the X will be discontinued Spring of 2011. I have played with my friends Evo and I love it but I am sticking with Verizon. My question is should I do an early upgrade now or wait for the newer Evo style coming out soon or possibly the new X? Or is the Incredible or Fascinate good (but I want hdmi)?

The evo will be discontinued next spring as well.

There is an evo style phone (with a keyboard) that has some leaked screens, no idea on launch date.

Definitely the Samsung Fascinate. I just checked it out today. Very cool device. I may be picking it up this weekend. Others are already loving it. Very few bad comments so far.

yeah I am not sure if I want the Fascinate. I have a friend that has the Galazy S and I don't really like Samsungs version of android. I really like the HC Sense but not sure about the Dinc.

If you get a Dinc with good voice quality, I think you will be happy. It's an awesome phone.

I just made the switch from BB to a Dinc, and so far I like it. Granted, its only been two days, but so far so good.

To be honest, I wouldn't worry about the physical part of the phone until you worry about switching from BB OS to Android.

I went from using a BlackBerry to using a phone running Android. The difference is night and day; although both systems can be designed to each person's preferences, Android does a better job of tailoring itself to you. Blackberry's OS has not evolved tremendously in the past five years (including OS6), and a lot of developers are ditching it for other platforms. What does that mean for you? More third-party apps for things you might actually find useful. Less chance of the phone crashing because of "too many themes". You can actually save apps onto the SD card instead of swallowing up internal memory (of course, not every app is designed for this, but a vast majority of the convenience apps I've come across on Android have this handy little feature). No obscenely long boot times from hard reset. WiFi AND GPS in one device from the get-go (not every BlackBerry has both features, though RIM has been working on it)...

Those are a few of the differences. Do more research, go into a store and play with an Android phone. Test the system first, then worry about the shell/specific phone you want.

I also have a BB Tour and I will be switching to an Android. My wife went from the 8330 to the Droid X recently and it is awesome. Using the internet is just so much more useful.
My plan does not end until Mid December so I am hoping for that "Droid Terminator" (Tegra 2) phone, but we will see. I will pretty much just miss my BBM only.
I hope this helps, good luck with your choice.

I'd suggest the Fascinate over anything Motorola, but that's because I hate Motorola. Definitely just go in the Verizon store and play around with the phones. It might surprise you which one you end up liking the best.

I'd also suggest to watch YouTubes and browse all of these forums. Everyone here is super helpful and willing to answer questions. You'll be an Android pro in no time!

What exactly and how do you use your Tour now?

I'm in the same boat here.

Currently on a BB storm and looking into android for my NE2 next week. I was originally set on the droid pro (based on specs), but after it finally got announced I didn't like the style. Then I was thinking about the Fascinate, but heard how HTC sense is better than touchwiz (plus I like the Galaxy S design on other carriers better). I was starting to think Dinc, but now with HTC Merge around the corner I'm just not sure.

Plus with verizon's LTE coming, would it even be worth getting a phone now?

so lost after my huge droid pro let down. blargh

I'm also on a Storm with my NE2 right around the corner. I was all excited to get an X or Dinc, but I don't think locking myself up for 2 years on a non-LTE capable device is a good idea. Might have to be a trooper until early next year and jump on the first LTE phone.
