Bloatware On The S23

Those are my thoughts exactly. Likewise, I use the Samsung apps, rather than the Google apps other than Messages. I also use both Netflix and Spotify. I love Samsung's calendar and email apps in particular. I also love Samsung's clock app. In addition to being my alarm clock it's also the timer when I'm cooking.

There is one Google app I use - Maps. Otherwise, I delete, disable all Google "bloatware." RCS does nothing for me, so I keep all of my messages organized how I like them in Samsung Messages. To each their own.

You gotta love the people who don't really understand what they are talking about running around yelling about how the sky is falling lol.

"I have a blog, so I must be an expert, right?"

Far as I'm concerned every phone, carrier version or unlocked has bloatware. If there are apps on the phone you don't use or want then it's bloat.

It's not just the newer phones. My S20 FE has 60 GB tied up in System.

Of course, it's on Android 13 now. I never checked how much System was under 12.

512gb storage?

It's okay. Still have 40% of internal memory available. Photos, music and regular files are all on the SD card.

However, I have to revise that number. Missed the "allow data usage access" mentioned earlier.

I did that and checked Storage again. Now it shows 22.8 for System and 37.5 for Apps. That was the 60.

False alarm.

I do have a bunch of apps, but they are mostly business or utilitarian in nature. No big gaming type apps to take up space.

Yeah most don't realize that "Allow Data" is important to take accurate results , glad to see it to down where it should be.
