Block unk calls and texts

[Android Central Question]

We recently switched from Verizon to AT&T and the secure family app doesn't seem to allow you to set up approved contacts list like Verizon did and my 10 yr old got some very inappropriate texts. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I want her to be able to call/text friends and family but block the rest

Try DND (do not disturb)
Can choose favorite contact or contact

Welcome to Android Central! Are you talking about the Verizon Smart Family app? If so, that might not work properly now that you're no longer with Verizon.

Open the phone app, go to settings, block numbers, and enable block unknown/private numbers.

I'm not 100% sure it works for texting but I know it blocks calls so I'd try enabling that.
