I noticed that Blockbuster OS showing an update in the Market. This app was causing drain until we all updated it the first time and disabled movie catalog.

What do we do now? Update it again? Ignore? Advice?

Well, i updated it, and im having absolutely horrible battery issues. Im drawing like 400-500 mA when the screen is on (30%), and 150-250 mA idle. but it doesnt show up in the about>battery>percentages thing.

i have no idea whats going on

Ok, thanks. I'll not update it. Can't you uninstall the update? See if that helps your battery. Also, check to make sure the catalog updates within the app are still disabled. Mine enabled on its own last week and drained my battery.

You can always go back and select uninstall updates..but then you are left with whatever the original version that came with the device. This is why I never update these bloatware apps when everything is already working fine. You don't have much control over them and you can get really screwed(unless you're rooted).

Genius lmao, i forgot i can install updates. let me try, haha sorry im still a noob

and yes i did check on catalog updates though, it got enabled but still had battery issue

this blockbuster crap is a piece of crap.
if my grandpa had this phone he wouldn't bother with trying to fix/update an app he would just return it haha

What's using your battery under Power settings? Have you tried a reboot to kill a rogue app?

Screen brightness, GPS status?

I've rebooted several times

gps off, all data off (mobile web and wifi), screen the lowest it will go now

ive had this phone for 2 weeks, i just got a replacement yesterday and this started happening. same battery from the old phone.

my power settings said, before it died on me earlier, like 45% screen, 22% cell standby and 18% phone idle and a few other miscellaneous percents.

I never touched the app and never updated and it has never cause battery drain or ran processes so I never touch them and do nothing. I have 20mah with screen off always so it is not running and I never updated it to turn it off.

I updated and made sure the auto-updates remained turned off. No ill effects that I can see.

Worst app ever. I couldn't wait to get it off my phone. Do you guys check it regularly to see if it updated itself, or just when you have a problem?

I updated, but I went back in to see if any settings had changed themselves. They hadn't. and I'm having no issues.

I think we all know that when the TBolt was released that the Blockbuster app had a bug that was harmful. But, assuming that with the update the bug is now fixed, why is it the worst app ever?

Dude, it's Blockbuster

If you need more proof look at the rating it has in the market. 11,000 ratings= 2.5 stars

The reviews are pretty entertaining as well.

I did look at the reviews. Looks like about 70 percent explained their poor rating just by saying it "sucked". About 10 percent said it "blows". About 15 percent explained that what they didn't like was that it couldn't be uninstalled. And the remaining 5 percent just couldn't afford the "expensive" movies.

Whatever... Doesn't look like a very credible sampling to me. More like a bunch of geek wannabe kids with no money.
