Bloom / flare in Z1 photos

Does anyone get bloom / flare in photos with their Z1?

This happens in day or night photos if there is a light source infront of, or to the side of the lens.

Welcome to Android Central! Real basic question--are you sure there isn't any thin protective plastic film over the camera lens that the phone might have been shipped with?

Thanks for your reply and welcome, always been an Apple user, but after trying Android don't think I'll ever go back.

I did think that may have been the case, but can't seem to see or feel and film on the lens.

If a protective film is present, it should be easy to peel off.

Have you cleaned the lens with a microfiber cloth?

Definitely no film, I've carefully tried a scalpel.

I use my Oakley sunglasses case to clean the lens.

I have noticed a spec of dust in the lens, although it's not in the field of view.

It has produced the below in the right circumstances.

Those are some nice photos!

I don't think I have anything else to suggest at this point, except maybe playing around with the white balance settings on the camera. Let's see if anyone else with Z1 can weigh in.
