Question blue spinning circle xperia xa1

hi guysb bought my wife an sony xperia xa1 for xmas i know its an older model but it is new out of the box , anyway after taking a photo she gets a blue spinning circle in the bottom right hand corner of the screen and nothing happens for ages so she has to cancel out of camera mode it doesn't always do it but more often than not, any help would be gratefully received , cheers everyone and A Happy New Year to you all.

That's a 7 year old phone, so it's unlikely to be brand new -- more likely it's used or refurbished.

Do you have it set to save photos to Internal Storage or the SD card? If it's a card, then that might be the problem. Or does this happen when trying to save to Internal Storage?

Great! You may want to backup whatever is on that SD card (i.e., to a computer), then reformat it in your phone, and then try using it again.
