Hi,
Trying to get my G4 to play nice with my 2006 Audi A6. I can make BT calls but the contact names mostly don't come across. Just numbers. My Galaxy S3 never had these issues. Just since I moved to the G4. Summary of my troubleshooting follows:
1) Initially, no contact names showed up on the MMI of the Audi. Period.
2) After removing all call logs and weeding out some unused contacts, I got a few that came across. Turns out it was just the Verizon pre-programmed contacts. Also, because those contacts are stored on the phone and also backed up to the Verizon cloud, I got two copies of each number. The rest of my contacts are saved on an Exchange server via my employer.
3) I tried moving one contact from being stored on Exchange to being stored on the phone. That seemed to work as I then saw it show up on the MMI.
4) So now I'm thinking that if I get all my contacts in Exchange also copied to the phone then I might be OK. I would have multiple copies of each number (phone storage and Verizon cloud backup) but I guess that is better than nothing.
5) Then I realize that one contact visible in the Audi MMI is stored on Google (my only Google contact), Verizon cloud, AND EXCHANGE. Now I'm really confused!
6) My G4 works perfectly in my wife's 2012 Prius. All contacts show up, and only once.
7) My wife's iPhone6 and my daughter's iPhone5 both work perfectly on my Audi.
8) So I guess this is particular G4/Audi issue and maybe somehow limited to Exchange?
Anybody out there have any similar troubles? Any suggestions or advice appreciated!
