Bluetooth connectivity issue

Hey guys, so im having some bluetooth connectivity issues with my kenwood ddx470 headunit in my car. I have an ATT galaxy s3 rooted running carbon rom. Well only half of the time the phone will connect to the headunit first try, idk why this is? also it only connects via a2dp and not spp(so it shows song information and whatnot) How do i enable the spp so i can have this feature?
