Bluetooth disconnects when call starts

I have a Plantronics Blacktop 500. When I start a call you can hear the first ring through the headset, then bluetooth disconnects. You have to manually reengage bluetooth by touching the bluetooth button on the dialing screen.

Why is bluetooth disconnecting and how do I get it to stop?

This may be a silly question, but have you tried unpairing your headset, reboot the phone, and re-pair the headset? Electronics can be funny. Sometimes a pairing just goes wrong.

I have paired a blueparrott, a Blue Tiger Elite, and an LG HB750, to this phone. I also have paired a Delphi car stereo, and a Samsung Gear 2 watch without any issues. I have a plantronics legend in the back of the truck somewheres, and will try pairing that as well to see if I have any issues and will let you know.

I'm having the same issue with my plantronics device too, but I'm using a different model than you are. It was also happening to me on my note 3 before the upgrade. I think it's a lollipop thing rather than a note 5 thing.

I have jawbone, some unknown brand car handfree speaker and motor 360. I don't see any issue with these devices. I am using them for all my conference call hours at a time and many times through out the day. I didn't experience such issue.
