Bluetooth (do you guys really enable it for each call)?

For the folks who turn bluetooth off... do you enable it for each call???

Example 1... To save battery i have bluetooth off... I get in car, and a call is coming in. In order to have the call come through car system, i have to answer call... turn on bluetooth and have car and bluetooth sync up with each other each time? (Then do it all in reverse at end of call?)

Example 2. Calls coming in. I'm in a hands free state. I have to now answer call on speaker... enable bluetooth... then wait for BlueAnt Q1 to pair again.

And this is assuming you guys actually keep the bluetooth powered on as well, or else I'd have to add powering up earpiece also.

If I used it a lot I would just leave it on rather than have to keep turning it on and off. I don't use Bluetooth so I leave mine turned off.

I haven't seen a need to change my bluetooth behavior on the EVO. With every phone I've owned I only enable bluetooth when I'm someplace I'll use it, and then leave it enabled for the duration of my time there. This basically boils down to two places, in the car, and at home.

I just enable bluetooth when I get in the car and let my headset pair. When I get out of the car I turn it off. When I get home I turn bluetooth on - since reception is wonky in my apartment so it's better if I leave the phone sitting in the spot it gets good reception (since I don't feel like playing the retentions game to get an AirWave) - and when I leave I either leave it on if I'm headed to the car or turn it off if I'm not. When the phone is at home it's usually sitting on the charge cable, so power's not really a problem.

I don't have a car charger yet, but since the phone isn't really doing much else but sitting there waiting for a call when I'm driving I don't find the battery drain unusual or excessive in that situation.

I don't use Bluetooth all that often, mostly in the car, but I leave my Bluetooth on all the time. I frankly haven't had a significant battery drain from having it on but not connected to a device and it is a lot easier to already have it on when the call come in instead of the procedure you outlined. I'm also not afraid of charging my phone while at my desk at work or using a car charger.

That's way too much work. I am picking up my spare battery tonight so I will no longer have to worry about my battery. To me it is useless to have all of this power at my finger tips only to have to worry about shutting down features during certain parts of the day. After coming from a Pre I am used to carrying around a spare battery. :-)

wow a lot of work for using a phone in the car. i just leave bluetooth on when Im in the car. My phone is usually plugged into the charger when I'm in the car anyway so I'm not worried about battery

Likewise and turn it off when you leave.
