Ever since the last update I've noticed that my Bluetooth drops out when I'm in the middle of a phone call using my car on Bluetooth.

The phone remains connected to the car according to the screen in the car and yet the sound stops coming out of the car speakers & starts coming out of the phone instead. The call continues but I have to hit speaker button in phone app to make it loud enough.

My car also shows the strength of the Bluetooth signal which goes from 5 bars down to 2 or 3 bars in back to 5 bars for note apparent reason.

Any ideas about what I can do to get my Bluetooth to connect strongly remain connected?

That's pretty cool your car shows bluetooth signal never seen that before.
You can try roll back the bluetooth version in developer setting and see if that might help or clear cache in recovery also.

Thanks but no luck there
I always clear cache after every update.

It's weird because once call is lost I can still play media through car.

Once call is over next call goes through car as expected.

I tried freezing smart things too but it made no difference.

At least now I know to hit phone speaker icon but if phone is in my pocket call is gone because I won't pull it out when driving.

If it happened every time I could mess with more settings but it's like one call in five and usually after 20 minutes or more.

Watch (Wear OS) stays BT attached but since it didn't receive the call I can't turn on watch volume to gear call either.

It could be the car too but I doubt it. I do Notice BT level goes up and down in car for no apparent reason BUT it never goes to less than 3 bars. Car shows bars for Bluetooth similar to phone bars for LTE.

Have you tried deleting from car and repairing?
Also in setting>general management>reset>rest network also does bluetooth

I'll have to re-pair with car and deleting car from Bluetooth connections. I was hoping it was a known issue with the last update because it never happened before in 2 years of use.

I also just shut off battery optimization for Bluetooth.

If I reset networks I'm in trouble because I have some wifi connections I need at work but have no idea what the passwords are. They are very stingy with passwords. I have to bring my phone in and allow one of them to put in password. It's childish I know.

Ahh then forget the reset network, I lean towards repairing with the car , it could be a update bug but should eliminate some things and see if it works.
