For some reason when I try to connect to my Kenwood 9904s I can use the phone but I can no longer stream Pandora. It won't even let me select media streaming in the bluetooth settings

A lot of users are reporting this and it's like the fifth time I see Kenwood mentioned... I have no issues with my Toyota Entune unit, but it seems the Pandora app is either not updated to support Oreo on your car unit or the Pandora app on the phone is buggy. It works for some, fails for others... But since I keep seeing the same few cars/brands pop up, I'm guessing it's a 'problem' with the car app rather than the phone one.

yes I think it's the app itself. I found that disabling the auto launch and then enabling it again works but you have to do it every time you get into the car. but at the same time it seems to lag out also. so not sure.

I reached out to pandora and they're automotive audio side is supposed to be getting back with me. can't expect kenwood to do anything about the issue. they seem to only update their head unit one time after release then they no longer support it. this is last years model of the radio maybe a little over a year old head unit too lol

I am having the same issue with my 2015 GMC Terrain Denali. Pandora connects for maybe 2 songs then just quits.
Also same with my bt ear piece. It connects, then I go to make a call and nothing. Have to quickly turn off then back on and it connects and works fine. Hope they solve this one quick.

doesnt seem like it. to bad I can't just flash the old bluetooth module on oreo lol

anyone having issues with bluetooth turning itself off and not being able to restart it?
the only way I have found to fix it, is to reset the network settings.

It's happening on my kenwood too.. it has to do with the codec. It works fine when I switch it to SBC within developer options, but it will switch back to AAC when I connect my phone again.

I hope someone has found a fix.. it's super annoying

reaching out to pandora they say they are aware of the issue and are working on a fix. but that was the day after I posted this thread and haven't seen anything since. :(

It is not just a Pandora issue. When playing Amazon Prime music (even in offline mode), if I go out of a song and start another, I have to puse the song and then hit play or it will play with no sound if connected to the head unit.
Also, my headset for calling says connected but nothing there. Turn it off then back on and my call is there. Is there anyway to reinstall just the Bluetooth driver? This all just started with Oreo.

Pandora says they are aware of the issue and working on a fix. But the update I got yesterday didn't fix the problem. the only other bluetooth devices I use are my watches. I don't have any problems with them. what I don't understand is, my wife's S8+ is on oreo and Pandora still plays fine through her radio. it's just my phone that won't play. just shows me a disconnected message. if I turn off the auto start feature then turn it back on. it starts and works as it should. Different radio in a different car. I haven't tried my phone with her radio.

I'm having the same issue with my S9+ and my Kenwood DNX994S. My S8 worked perfectly but then I "upgraded." The only way I can gain Pandora control is if I uncheck and then recheck autolaunch in the Pandora settings menu but I have to do that every single time the receiver is powered off. However, Spotify will auto launch. (Takes a couple tries right after the first time pairing the devices but after that it works every time right away)I sent Pandora a ticket about the issue over a month ago. We talked back and forth a few times about the problem and there have been several updates to the app but it still doesn't work. I'm going to call Kenwood when I get a chance but its like JoBudden said.....they won't do anything. Every other time I have called them with a problem they just blow it off. Terrible customer service.

yea kenwood only supports their head units for a few months after release I've noticed. after that they just move on to the next one.

Hey, just thought I would let everyone know. after Pandora's update today it's finally working again.
