Bluetooth Issues

So, for some reason, my Bluetooth doesn't function properly as it should, which is weird, since my phone is still on stock, and the only modifications I've made are unlocking the bootloader and rooting the device. I also installed Power Toggles, but I don't think that's the issue at hand.

Pretty much, whenever I turn the bluetooth on, it tries for a while to turn it on, then gives up and won't let me turn it on. At that point, I have to restart the phone, and when it reboots back up, the bluetooth is on without me having to start it up. Then it works properly, but if I wish to use the bluetooth again the next day, I have to repeat the process of rebooting the device. Any ideas?

I have exactly this problem yahoo.

I wondered if juicedefender was interfering with it. Have you got that installed?

I also have random problems with this happening. I don't have juice defender, but I do have DS Battery Saver Pro.

I don't have any of those and updated to jelly bean.
I can turn bt on, but when I shut my car off, or any connected bt device, it turns Bluetooth off on the phone.
Then I have to manually turn it back on and manually connect.

Bluetooth connectivity issues has been a known and ongoing problem for lots of users for some time. I've only followed the problem from posts in this forum and posts in Google Groups, and the problem seems to affect users randomly. Some people have no problems and others do. I don't think anybody has been able to pinpoint the cause of the problem so far as I can tell. From what I've read there is no known fix other than rebooting, and in some cases that doesn't even fix the problem. My problems with bluetooth was I was getting knocked off BT when I was using wifi and BT at the same time. If I disabled wifi then BT worked fine, but both at the same time disconnected BT. However, with the last Jelly Bean update my problem was fixed and now I have no problems with BT whatsoever.

If it coincides with WIFI being on, then you might have interference issues. Simply change the channel of your wifi router to something different. It might be set for "auto" as default. You can use an app called WIFI analyzer to see what channel it uses now and see if it is the same as a neighbor which might add to the complexity of the issue.

I appear to have solved my BT issues by switching my battery management app. I was running Juice Defender Plus which is pretty advanced, particularly in the way it manages your wifi vs data connection and this seems to have been screwing with the BT. It also didn't seem to be giving me much extra battety life unlike with my previous HTC. I've switched to EasyBattery Saver which is less hi tech and which you have to switch between wifi and data manually but no more BT issues plus clear battery life improvement.

My problem is that the new HTC One connects to my cars Bluetooth system and allows me to make and receive calls but doesn't allow me to stream anything other than music from the built in music player . Meaning that Spotify or iheart radio or even YouTube audio does not stream via Bluetooth thru my cars speakers. Everything is stock on the phone as I just received it 2 days ago. Any suggestions ? (I've already tried rebooting and deleting and pairing again)

Hmm I do have JuiceDefender, and I guess that might be the issue. JuiceDefender is really amazing and I don't really want to, but they really haven't even posted up and update in the past year or two, I think, unfortunately :(

I am a sales Rep and I am in and out of my car that has Bluetooth

Prior to jelly bean, whenever I got back in my car, it would auto connect with the Bluetooth

Now, when I leave my car, it shuts off Bluetooth and obviously will never reconnect.

Is there a setting or a hack that I can lock the Bluetooth setting to the on position?

I hard reset the phone with no luck.

Can I call Google?

The failure to reconnect is a big problem. In the past with my BlackBerry 9900, I could leave my headset in the car and when I came back it would automatically and reliably reconnect. Now, I've taken to putting my headset in my coat pocket just so it will stay connected with my phone. Not an ideal solution, and one that obviously doesn't work with your car bluetooth. Maybe the rumored 4.2.3 update (or whatever it might be) will fix it!
