Bluetooth not connecting automatically P20 Pro

[Android Central Question]

Recently upgraded to the P20 pro and quite happy with it apart from the bluetooth connection.

My S7 edge used to connect to my bluetooth devices automatically when the bluetooth device was turned on. With the P20 pro, I need to keep going to the settings menu to connect; any ideas?

I've had this problem with multiple phones and think it is an Android problem. But I don't recall it happening on any bt headset other then my Plantronics Edge so maybe it's that. What happens is I turn the headset on, it connects, then disconnects. I can then either go into settings to connect it or wait about a minute or 2 and it will connect, and stay connected.

I am having the same issue with BT on the P20 Pro and also my Mrs on her P20.
