BLuetooth Problem with Nexus 5 android 6

Hi

For my wife's nexus 5, since the ota to Android 6, bluetooth audio on her car (Citroen C3 2014) is bad. Sound is very bad on the car only when she make the call, when she receive the call, no problem. To resolve the problem, after each startup of the nexus 5, she has to disconnect the phone to the car, turn off bluetooth then turn on and reconnecter the car. After that, sound is good. But she prefere turn off the phone every night :-( she had to do this every day.

Thanks for a very fast update... ;-)

No problem for me with m'y Nexus 6, but some others :-D

I too have an Acura RDX 2013 w/ Tech Package. Having really weird issues both with Bluetooth and connecting directly with a USB cable. When placing a call, initially I get a notification stating something like "The system was unable to place a call using your device... " and then a second or two later places the call. When I connect the phone w/ a USB cable - I see this (see photo)IMG_20151028_090254.jpg

Who we can Push for a fast update?

I'm unable to post a link as my post count is to low, but someone has opened up a issue on the google issue tracker, look for issue 189188 and be sure to vote. if someone would paste the complete link in this thread it would send more traffic to the issue making it more likely to be fixed sooner rather than later.

If you have a Android 6 your phone is fine but you will need to get your cars firmware updated. I have a Peugeot 508 and it stopped calling when I upgraded to Android 6. But once I had the cars firmware upgraded to 2.86 all was good again

Very few cars offer firmware updates, unfortunately. With most manufacturers, after a few years (sometimes less), the customer is just abandoned.

This is true. I am surprised that firmware upgrades for cars don't automatically download when you connect your phone. At the end of the day it is only firmware so it should be freely available too the owners of the car.

Google has acknowledged there is a BT problem and the development team is working on a fix. As the other poster noted, most car manufacturers do not bother provide firmware updates unless there is a problem from the beginning. BT is supposed to be backward compatible as it is developed. Also, it is not only car BT systems that people are reporting problems with. Just because your phone now works with your car after a firmware update does not mean "Android 6 on your phone is fine".

Using nexus 5 (android 6) Hyundai sonata 2012. Before the upgrade no issue....Since ugrade Bluetooth works fine with other Bluetooth device (earphone, wireless peakers) BUT, in my car it will connect with the first phone call I make or receive. BUT THEN, it will not connect again. I need to disconnect Bluetooth and reconnect Bluetooth everytime I want to make a phone call.
Anybody with this issue?

To Eric LEGIGAN
Exactly same problem (and same car but older version).
The workaround I found is to do a first call (to any number) after the phone is connected with BT to the car - the sound quality is very poor - then hang up.
Next calls will have a normal (correct ) sound quality.

In addition (but not specific to marshmallow), I'm not able to have google map sound be played in the car speakers except when a phone conversion is started, while the Iphone 5s does that. Also, I cannot play a music and have it transmitted to my car speakers through BT.
I can understand the BT communication protocol of the car is not good but why is it ok for the iphone ?

I'm as you waiting for a fix done by google android team.

Last Thursday (10 december) I received a system update for my Nexus 5, and since then bluetooth is back to normal, i.e. I can place and receive calls normally from my Peugeot 508. No upgrade of the car's software was needed.

Android version now reads: 6.0.1, Kernel 3.4.0-g7717f76, Build number MMB29K

I too am having a similar problem, but the 6.0.1 update did NOT resolve my issue. Using a Nexus 6P in a Hyundai Veloster R Spec. Android 6.0.1 Car connects but sometimes boots the incoming OR outgoing call back to the phone, sending me scrambling to grab my phone and navigate menus to activate the speakerphone so I can answer the call. I waited till the 6.0.1 updating seeing that this is a known problem, but it did not resolve my problem.

Android Developers, PLEASE FIX THIS!! This is unacceptable!!!

Hello, I have the same problem with Nexus 5 (Android 6.0.1) and Ford Mondeo Mk4. I can't see the contacts on the car.
