Today I tried my Bluetooth headset for the first time since upgrading to Gingerbread. Something has it half broken.
Instead of it saying it's paired with a headset or hands free device, it says it's paired with phone audio and only the microphone works. I get no sound from the headset speaker. Sound comes from the phone speaker on the front. I tried the Bluetooth mic Tester app, can record through the headset mic but sound plays through the phone's speaker.
When I make a call with the headset on, I get no audio at all from anywhere. I can voice dial, which is a worthless joke because it always mis-understands the first three numbers. So I tried dialing a number from Contacts and got no audio.
How do I find out if it's my headset that's gone bad or if it's a software problem on the phone? When I re-paired with the phone, it just did it without asking for the usual 0000 code.
I should try charging my old LifeDrive and pairing the headset with it, then try it again with the phone.
