Good question. I don't know, but I'd think it would have to. I know that on jailbroken iPads, the bt mouse works that way - with a pointer on the screen.

Anyone ever actually used a keyboard and mouse with an Android phone? (And with both at the same time, or do you have to choose just one?)

Yes I have linked up my bt mouse to my DX. It does work. But there is no pointer on the screen. It just highlights the icon as you move across it. But you can't see whet the mouse is until you move over an icon. I read that Android software does not have a mouse cursor written into there code so I was hoping that this phone might have it.

Is it usable in a text editor with the DX, or does the lack of a cursor make that impractical for creating documents?

If not usable as-is, surely a writing app, eg, could choose to support it. I wonder if those exist?

Warning:Rant on...
It's remarkable to me how such great hardware can be missing such simple functionality like a cursor for mouse input. And other very simple things like RTF file editing don't seem to exist. It really makes one remember that Android is just a consumer device platform, not the computing platform that I wish it was. With keyboard, video and mouse, this ought to be a very capable computer. What good are Android netbooks with those sorts of limitations? Ugh... surely it's not as bad as it looks.
Rant off...

I used it for home screen navigation with my X hooked up to my tv. And it is very impractical because you have no idea where your cursor is until you move it over an icon. I have not tried it in texts but I think the same thing, no cursor your just clicking blind.

Thanks. Such a shame. Hope that is on the development feature list for Android, or that at least some developers find a way around it without requiring rooting.
