I just bought a new Bose Soundlink bluetooth wireless speaker. My Galaxy s8 is about 23 feet away from the speaker and starts going in and out. Even at about 12 feet I am getting some skips. Both of these examples are outside with no obstructions.

Does anyone know if there is any fix or something that will allow me to be about 25 feet away and make a solid connection?

The Bluetooth range on my S8 has sucked from day one (April 19). I considered returning it but it is just tolerable enough for me to keep the phone, but it seems to be a very definite weak spot for the phone.

On my Bose SoundLink III I have it on in bedroom and goto frontroom. It's about 30 feet difference. It still plays with no issues.

From what I understand you won't get any advantage from the S8 Bluetooth 5.0 unless the device is also 5.0. I can't get 10 feet away from my cheap Bluetooth speaker before it cuts out.

I'm currently switching between a S8+ and a G6. I use a Bluetooth speaker at work. If I walk about 40 feet away from my speaker with the S8+, the two will disconnect from each other. With the G6 I can walk about 150 away and the music will still be playing when I get back to my work area. The S8+ bluetooth is frustrating.
