Holding the Power button down till it beeped twice did the trick and reset my JBL Flip. It then appeared while my tablet had the Bluetooth scanning enabled and I was able to pair it. Thanks for the help!

Hi I had the same prob. Yoh need to reset your JBL Flip
Hold the on/off button down until it double beeps and flashes red and blue
Then turn your bluetooth on on your phone & it will find it

dont know if its relevant but tried holding down the on off button on my flip 3
just turned on and off, but finding the proper scan button on the speaker did
