Boosting ring tone and speaker volume

Is there a way to increase the volume of the ring tone through a small booster app or something? I have a real hard time hearing my phone ring when in my jacket pocket. Any ideas?

Got to the HTC hub and download gleam as your ringtone its definitely loud

Also make sure you have pocket mode enabled and quiet ring on pickup disabled. menu>settings>sounds

Hmmm, I understand what you guys are saying, but this seems to be a kind of band-aid approach to the problem. Isn't there an app somewhere that will boost the volume on the Inspire to acceptable levels?

The only way, it seems, to change sound quality (including "boosting" it) is via the Sound Enhanced. However, it is only available through the built-in media player, rather than system-wide. The same applies to various third-party players such as Blacker, Subsonic, etc., which can only play audio without access toothed Sound Enhanced.

Based on a members recommendation, I downloaded Zedge from the market - Besides having a great selection of ring tones, they seem to be louder than the Inspires stock ring tones. Quick easy fix and the app was free

Hopefully HTC addresses this in their updates

The only other alternative is to use a custom rom, most of the custom roms on XDA incorporate a 20% increase to speaker volume through the software itself. Most HTC phones out of the box have quiet speakers and you need to go through the kernal to up it

I'm not sure where this started, but it doesnt make the rings any louder than if you made your own or the stock ones. at least no difference that i could tell. what i did was to find the ringtone i wanted, doesnt matter where you get it, then download audacity. open the ringtone with audacity and increase the preamp a little bit. most i can get without the ringtone sounding distorted is around +15. even this doesnt help much though. sounds on this phone with the external speaker just arent very loud at all.
