I just got my OTA Update, was super excited and installed
Phone is rooted and unlocked, all done with the Nexus Toolkit from Skipsoft

TWRP installed the update, everything looked good.

But now my phone displays the boot animation for 2 hours. Reboot did not help.
I can boot to TWRP recovery and I have wiped the dalvik cache and the cache, even done a factory reset. Nothing helped.
What can I do now?

Your help is much appreciated :)

Follow the instruction here to flash factory image,

http://forums.androidcentral.com/ne...3923-guide-nexus-4-factory-image-restore.html

except to prevent your internal storage from being wiped do not type "fastboot erase userdata" when it say so and instead of typing " fastboot ?w update image-occam-######.zip", leave out the -w to also prevent wiping.

Secondly OTA update only work with an unmodified stock rom, although it can be flashed using TWRP, in your situation it was likely inevitable it would fail.

I use the same toolkit. Is there no option in the toolkit to get you back running again?

What bootanimation is it? The fact that you can get into TWRP means that the OTA did not work. If the OTA worked properly you would have lost TWRP

It's the Google boot animation. 4 circes doing some stuff. I do not get to TWRP automatically, but I can access it with Power on and volume down.

OK, you rooted and installed a custom recovery on your phone but didn't read the instructions that say NEVER do an OTA if you have either of those things? :p

Go here to restore -- you'll end up wiping your phone's data, but at least you won't have a brick anymore.
[HOW-TO] How to flash a factory image / return to stock / unlock / root # - xda-developers

Thx, I will try that. And yes, I had no idea that I was not supposed to do that. I just use the skipsoft tooolkit and I had no problem with OTA 4.3

Well, thx to the instructions users gave me here I had an idea what to do and I found a much easyier solution using the skipsoft toolkit!
Just reboot to Fastboot (Hold Power and volume down. Then start the toolkit and select 9 "Download, Extract + Fash Google Factory Stock Rom"
Follow the instructions, download Android 4.3 and flash it. Works like a charm :)

To get Android 4.4 OTA on the phone
Restart, enable USB debugging (tap 7 times on the build version in settings-> about your phone).
Select 6 "Flash recovery" and flash the stock recovery in skipsoft toolkit
Reboot and install OTA
Done :)
