I just got a NC with 1.2 I would like to boot via sd card but I am having trouble with it. I have tried a couple of tutorials for CM7 and it just loops during the bootup. I want to boot from SD as I am new to this and I am not ready to risk it yet. Any suggestions?

koopakid08,
I am still running in to the same loop. Loyd scoots up on his skateboard and the circle starts then repeats, 5min worth. Any suggestions?

Ok disk is is bad. not even 1g available after reformatting. Will try again with a new disk tomorrow.

So, the link I listed above is for a card image that will do the install. If you flash that then you can try different cm7 versions. I am running the cm7.1RC1 which is great. I tried the 7.0.3 and had an issue with the nc booting. For me it would net even get past the loading...
So, try the loader with cm7.1 and see if you have any luck. That version is really nice too btw!

So what is the difference in the programing between having it boot up on sd card versus internally?
Are the same file used and the OS burned to the disk if you want it ran from the disk. I might not be making any since I am new to the programing/hacking/rooting side of things.

I'm not exactly sure what your saying but you use the same image for both SD and internal. The difference being similar to booting off a live CD on a computer.
