My Nexus 6 has random restarts about once per day. The most frustrating thing about it is that it takes 1:45 minutes (105 seconds) to reboot. It's the same length of time when I turn the phone off and boot it by hand. Is this normal? Can a few of you do me a favor and measure how long it takes on theirs? Thanks much in advance!

Mine took 1:55 or 115 seconds the first time and 118 seconds the 2nd time.

I have the 32 GB version, currently running 5.1 in Sprint.
I think the boot time may be related, to some degree, on how many apps and media files are on your phone.

I believe the boot time is due to the encryption. Personally I'm fine with that.

I have noticed that the Nexus 6 takes much longer to restart. My Samsung Galaxy S5 and my Nexus 4 did it in half the time. Actually... my Nexus 4 was faster than my S5.

Might be encryption indeed, we'd need someone who has phone with encryption off to report on his boot times.

I used to have a Palm Pre, so anything under 3 minutes is fast to me. haha.

Yea the boot times are oddly slow. Must be encryption. KitKat booted up so much faster.

I've been having the same frustration with the boot time! I really hope they can find a way to speed it up without stopping the encryption.

Personally I'd rather have a slow boot time with encryption than a faster one without it. But waiting a minute or two for a boot up doesn't bother me. If it does bother you I believe you can turn off encryption if you root it.

Mine took 130 seconds. Lol. Crazy. That's one of THE most frustrating things about this phone. Especially if your phone isn't working properly and want to do a quick reboot to fix.
