Boot to home screen

How can you boot to the home screen without activating the phone? I just did a factory reset to erase all my personal data cause I am selling the phone... And it wont get past the activation screen to at least show it works =(

Nvm.. I called verizon and the answer first rep I talked to had the answer!! yay.... For anyone else, HTC Eris and Devour are the two Verizon phones that have no option to bypass activation screen to get to the home screen.

That's actually incorrect. You can bypass it simply by hitting the activate button, waiting for it to place the *228 call and while in the call hit the back button. It will take you back to the activate screen but the button will now say "next" instead. Once you hit that you can open the notification tray to end the call and skip through to the home screen.
